In early December 2007 the Blue Mountains Refugee Support Group, a long time friend and generous supporter of the work of the House Of Welcome, hosted our year-end gathering at the scenic picnic grounds of Lawson. The beautiful pool provided cool comfort from the heat as did the violent hail storm on the return journey.

TAFE Outreach services has through the efforts of one of our volunteers, Therese Douglas has provided a number of courses at the House Of Welcome. They have proved to be very popular and add to the resumes of our clients.

Each year the Lord Mayor of Sydney hosts a New Year’s Eve Party in the Grounds of Government House for special Community groups.
