Material Aid

How can you support asylum seekers and refugees with material goods?

If you or your community group can support our work through material donations have a look at the ideas below.

Contact us or call 02 9727 9290 to arrange a drop off time from Monday-Thursday between 9am and 4pm.

We DO NOT accept household electrical items, large white goods e.g. washing machines, or any damaged clothes, toys or bedding.

Food Bank Donations

We run a food bank for our clients who have limited or no income. They can access familiar and nutritious food which helps supplement their limited weekly budget.

Could you get together with a few friends, your family, your community group and drop some of these items off to the HoW office in Carramar?

Mobile Phones

Do you have a mobile phone with matching charge lying around at home that you don’t use anymore? Post it over to us (Po Box 2008 Carramar, NSW 2163) and we’ll pass it on to someone here who can use it for vital communication to their doctors, lawyers, friends and caseworkers. If you combine it with a #25 donation it will provide a SIM card and starter credit for a new arrival with limited funds.

Toys, Books & Clothes

We work with families and individuals of all ages so books, toys and clothes in good condition can be of great use.

We don’t have the capacity to store a lot of donations so again, please call us before you bring the donations into the office during office hours. Please DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS OUTSIDE on the street – we can be fined by the council!

Sports equipment and kids activity resources are needed for some of our in-house activities. If you have any footballs, cricket sets, frisbees, tennis racquets, colouring books, art resources then contact us.
